As Froth, "a foolish gentleman" (the wig’s a bit of a giveaway)
in Measure for Measure. Gus MacDonald, as Pompey, looks
no less foolish despite working under his own hair.

In the same production I also played Claudio, here being led to prison
for having got Kate Egan up the duff. Ron Povey is the bondage master
and Roger Lewis finds the whole thing amusing.
Trying to keep out of the way while Jim Walden (playing Elbow) has a
pop at Gus. Jim was a good friend and a fine actor and director, who
died tragically young in December 1993.
The Duke (Emmanuel Toutoungi), disguised as a friar, has a heart to
heart with the condemned Claudio. Note the subtle use of dark make-up
on my legs to convey the squalor of prison (my shirt, of course, is
still miraculously white).
Keeping Isabella (Kate Washer) entertained with my goldfish
impression.
